An Ahanta West NPP parliamentary aspirant, Hon. Kwesi Biney, has disclosed that he is better placed to win the parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Constituency than the sitting Member of Parliament, Hon. Lawyer Ebenezer Kojo Kum.
Speaking to the media after picking his nominations at the Party’s office on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, Mr Biney unequivocally stated that the current MP is a disaster.
Sometime ago, he was referred to as fantastic candidate. Today, in my opinion, he’s a disaster.
We cannot allow the fortunes of this Constituency to be placed in sands anymore, Hon Biney maintained.
He further said the incumbent MP does not deserve another 4-year term, boasting of his [Hon Biney’s] records in the Municipality which he says everyone knows.
Though he admitted that he once supported Hon Kojo Kum in the lead to the 2016 elections, he thinks the MP failed and couldn’t deliver on his mandate, hence the need to come back and save the Constituency from their opponents, the National Democratic Congress.
Ahanta West cannot be left to be a swing seat because it has always been a stronghold for the NPP, he said.
As the new face for the NPP in the Municipality, Mr Biney is optimistic that Ahanta West can go places under his leadership, thus, “Ahanta West has no reason to be moaning, whining and pining.”
Meanwhile, the current Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Hon Lawyer Kojo Kum, affectionately known as “Lawyer Fantastic” picked his nomination forms on Monday, 27th January, 2020.
