In the wake of the novel Coronavirus, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ahanta West Constituency, Dr. Emmanuel Okumi Andoh has renovated an abandoned ward at the Agona Nkwanta health center into an Isolation ward to contain COVID-19 suspected patients.

At a short ceremony at the forecourt of the Agona Nkwanta health center, Dr. Emmanuel Okumi Andoh, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Ahanta West Constituency said, the move to renovate the ward came as a result of an appeal the Management of the facility made when the NDC supplied two Veronica buckets to the facility in April.
He further urged management of the facility to ensure its maintenance to achieve the purpose of the renovation.
“I appeal to other individuals to come and help the Agona Nkwanta Health Centre in this difficult times of COVID-19,” he appealed.

The Health Director for the Ahanta West Municipality, Timothy Kobina Ofori thanked Dr. Okumi Andoh for the gesture. He also called on corporate Institutions to extend a helping hand to the Agona Health Centre especially PPEs for protection against COVID-19.
The isolation ward can keep 6 patients at a time. The Municipality already has an Isolation ward at the Hima Dekyi hospital at Dixcove which also can accommodate 6 patients of COVID-19.
