Lower Dixcove Traditional Council unveils Owanwani Kwesi Agyemang’s 30th anniversary

The Lower Dixcove Traditional Council in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region has launched the 30th anniversary celebration of the enstoolment of Owanwani Kwesi Agyemang IX, the Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove Traditional Council.

Owanwani Kwesi Agyemang IX ascended the Lower Dixcove throne in 1990 after the demise of his dear uncle Nana Kwesi Agyemang VIII.

According to the chiefs and people of the traditional area, the paramount chief has sought the overall interest, well-being and development of not only the Lower Dixcove people, but the people of Ahanta in general.

Addressing a colourful durbar of the chiefs and people of Lower Dixcove at the Odwenase Palace under the theme 30 YEARS OF TRADITIONAL EXCELLENCE, Nana Kwesi Agyemang said the 30 years of his reign has been successful though there have been few challenges.

“Chieftaincy is all about promoting peace and unity and that is why my achievements span from promoting education and youth development”, he said.

Nana Agyeman later called on Rev John Earnest Kwofie, National Peace Council Board Chairman for the Western Region to step in and settle the differences between Lower and Upper Dixcove because they are one people.

He continued by saying, he’s ever ready to smoke the people pipe with Omanhene of Upper Dixcove, Obrempong Hima Dekyi XIV.

Nana Kwesi Agyemang IX advised the youth to do politics devoid of insult and also do away with vigilantesm as Ghana goes to the poll in December.
