The Municipal Chief Executive for the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly, Hon Henrietta Mary Eyison together with Apowa GPRTU Officers and Assembly Members for Apowa and Aworozo electoral areas, has undertaken a sensitisation exercise on the mandatory wearing of face masks at the Apowa Lorry Station and the Apowa market.
As part of efforts to stem the spread of the virus in the Municipality, the MCE charged all drivers, passengers and sellers to wear masks and adhere to other safety etiquettes.
She further distributed free masks to residents of the community as part of the programme.
Ghana’s COVID-19 case count
As of Tuesday, May 19, 2020, Ghana had recorded 6,096 positive cases of the coronavirus after 178 new cases were recorded.
Also, the number of persons who have recovered from the virus in Ghana has shot up to 1,773 with the death toll still at 31.
