Ghana Card Registration: Each electoral area will get one centre for the exercise – Mrs. Faustina Koranteng

The Ahanta West Municipal director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mrs. Faustina Lauretta Koranteng has stated that each electoral area in the Ahanta West Municipality will get only one centre for the Ghana Card registration exercise irrespective of the electoral area’s size or how scattered the communities may be.

For the Ahanta West municipality, the registration is scheduled to kick off on 27th January, 2020 across all electoral areas. The NCCE director has therefore called on all assembly members to help coordinate and make sure the exercise goes on smoothly by properly arranging for all the communities to have appropriate days to engage in the exercise.

Listing the relevant documents one must bear to be able to register for the card, Mrs. Koranteng urged all potential registrants to go to the centre with a valid birth certificate or valid passport. For a foreigner, she said the one must show a valid certificate of acquired citizenship. Additional documents needed are NHIS card, SSNIT card, Voter card, driving license and TIN number.

“If you don’t have any of the basic required documents for the registration, a relative who has all of the relevant documents and has the Ghana Card can endorse your registration.”

“If you don’t have any relative to endorse you, you need a minimum of two (2) qualified non-relatives to help you in that regard,” she opined.

She made all these known Thursday morning in an exclusive interview with Sammy Junior, host of Radio Ahanta’s morning show.

According to the Municipal director, her outfit is set to embark on many activities to educate the citizens, and they will try to do their best for the good of the country “but it boils down to money.”
